Tinkuy. Meeting in diversity, is a visual record that is part of the research project "Visual Chronicles of Abya Yala", which connects the designer with her ancestral roots. It is a return to the elemental, the irreducible, to the origin. It is a journey through several archaeological pieces from different cultures that inhabited the Andes, where the concept of Tinkuy (Encounter between opposites and differences) is visually represented. Tinkuy is a Quechua word that encompasses the richness of diversity, a point where different ways of thinking, interests, traditions, and cultural expressions converge. It is a space for exchanging knowledge, strengthening ties, forging alliances to work on projects that benefit the different communities as a collective rather than an individual being.

A journey through some archaeological pieces and cosmovision of the native cultures that inhabited the Andes that show that many fundamentals of design were involved at the time of manufacturing and illustrating their visual signs. I will tell from their morphological analysis the whole process to design the typographic family Tinkuy Patterns and the graphic universe that I have designed around it.

A typographic specimen dedicated to Nunkui, the powerful spirit of the land. In this talk, we will travel through the living territories of the Ecuadorian Amazonian forest. We will observe the worldview and ceremonies of the Shuar nationality, their coexistence of respect and reciprocity with nature, and acts that reaffirm the connection of the inhabitants of the forest (visible or invisible) with the land, and their struggle to defend the future of humanity.

El 11 de julio estaré en Guayaquil en la Universidad Casa Grande mostrando un poco de experimentos del proyecto de investigación, entre ellos el registro denominado Código Valdivia, un juego morfológico que parte del análisis de la piedra denominada Cosmograma perteneciente a la cultura Valdivia que se encuentra ubicada en el Museo Casa del Alabado en Quito, Ecuador. La pieza arqueológica es una piedra rectangular con 6 caras, cuatro que miran hacia los puntos cardinales que posiblemente simbolicen la transformación del chamán en su alter ego, la cara superior representa a "el ojo que levanta la vista al cielo de la noche", es decir, la transmutación del chaman pájaro o astrónomo-sacerdote en un búho para que su espíritu ascienda hacia las estrellas y llegue al mundo de los dioses; la cara que mira hacia el mundo de abajo posiblemente simbolice el contacto con el mundo de los Muertos.

Embroidered Typographic Specimen was presented in Paris in February 2019 at the Ecole Intuit Lab - Ecole de design & communication visuelle, where I gave a talk and a workshop on modular typography in processing focused on the development of a poster for the Biennial of the Bolivian Poster 2019 under the category, The era of disinformation.
